Our property is situated at the door of the Casentino valley rich in history and tradition. The area boasts a profusion of Romanesque parish churches scattered in an unspoiled countryside. Not to mention the gastronomic delights, the castles, the well-known Della Robbia glazed terracotta, places related to Dante and spiritual destinations such as the Camaldoli Hermitage and La Verna sanctuary. The Casentino valley is an oasis of greenery and includes the suggestive Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi.

andamp;nbsp;In the past the local farmers used to give places particular names according to their distinctive features. This site was named L'Agriturismo which means andamp;ldquo;the wellandamp;rdquo;, because of the large quantity of water present in the underground springs which flow on the hill. Thatandamp;rsquo;s the reason why our logo depicts the characteristic old well which was discovered in our park and other water springs too.

The housing complex is the result of a long, demanding restoration aimed at striking the right balance between the typical peasant tradition and the needs of modern life.

The apartments:andamp;nbsp;The apartments are located in two stone farmhouses. Near the edge of the woods there is the largest farmhouse with the common dining area and the shop on the ground floor; on the lower portion of the knoll stands the other farmhouse.

They comprise five and three apartments respectively. Each unit has an independent entry, original niches and other particulars, bathroom with shower box, special furnishings and a characteristic fireplace in the sitting room.

In addition, modern amenities include air-conditioning, heating, satellite TV, telephone and an outlet for Internet connection (not available at the moment).

Our lodgings have been painstakingly restored according the architectural features of this area, using natural materials, which can allow a pleasant stay also to disabled person.

APARTMENTS: Even though each apartment and room has its own individual style, they have been specifically designed with your comfort and suitability in mind. The apartments all offer a well-equipped kitchen with cooking-area, fridge, television, lounge area and elegantly appointed bathrooms. The bedrooms are furnished with double or two single beds, a bathroom en suite, mini bar and television. The swimming pool is at disposal of each guest and it is provided with dressing rooms and toilets with shower.

Our agritourism is made special by the details. The names of the rooms and of the apartments are not thought by chance: they are the names of the peasants who have lived in this estate and have characterized the milieu.

All the guests have access, in the main villa, to a Reading Room equipped with tourist information, magazines, books, board games and a billiard table. In addition the large Kitchen with its antique fireplace and wood-burning oven is available for use to anyone who wishes to try their hand at Tuscan cooking. Roccagiovine is a lovely medieval village lying on top of a hill, not far from Rome. The village is dipped in the woods of the natural park of Monti Lucretili, which are often mentioned by the poet Orazio Flacco, whose villa (a gift by Mecenate in 33 b.c.), is within walking distance.

The Bed andamp;amp; breakfast is situated in the heart of the village, close to Castello Orsini and just above the little square, in a pebbled narrow street wich leads to the church. The Palazzetto as well once belonged to the Orsini, while today it is owned by two young sisters, who fell in love with the place and decided to restore the house, turning it into a Bedandamp;amp;breakfast.

Worth seeing: in the upper part of the village lies the powerful size of Castello Orsini, which dates back to the 14th century. In the heart of the village a lovely fountain stands out, which is dedicated to the goddess Vacuna. The Farmhouseandamp;nbsp; is situated on the border between the Marche and Umbria regions, in the heart of the Apennine Mountains. It is located half-way between Gubbio and Urbino, in the territory of the municipality of Cagli, and it spreads over an area of over 20 hectares. The place where the estate is situated was appreciated since the Roman period. Near the farm, in the area corresponding to a secondary street once leading from the Marches to Umbria, some ruins of a Roman house (III century A.C. andamp;ndash; V century B.C.) were found. One might easily suppose that the name of the place recalls the existence of a smith or a Roman station where it was possible to shoe horses; which were quite widespread at that time.

Today in the restored farmhouse you can enjoy the hospitality of the place, and in the old barn, turned into restaurant room you can taste the traditional cuisine of the Marche region.

La Casina was built in the heart of a centennial oaks park of about 18 acres, classified as E4-protected area (almost a natural oasis), which allows unforgettable walks in the middle of a gorgeous territory.

Recreational activities include the use of the 112 sqm swimming-pool and the rent of mountain bikes. There is also the possibility to rent horses in the neighbourhood. Breakfast, served in the garden, is an extra cost. Open all year.

The residence is one of the most important historical buildings in Castiglione del Lago, in close vicinity to the main square, in front of Santa Maria Maddalenaandamp;rsquo;s church. This is a lovely farmhouse dating back to the XI century that has been completely restored.

The Villa is situated on the ridge that divides the Arno valley from the Tiber valley, at a height of about 600 m, in an area rich in green woods and gravelled paths that, since ancient times, have inspired the great Masters in the creation of remarkable paintings.

LEONARDO DA VINCI himself knew these places very well, and the proof of it is that in the map of the Chiana Valley, painted by the famous Master, the property is shown, together with the other medieval small towns, near the Castle of Montauto.

The hill of Montauto and its surrounding landscape, depicted in the background of the famous Resurrection by PIERO DELLA FRANCESCA, can be enjoyed from the ancient sentry post, located in the upper part of the Villa. The Portaandamp;nbsp;di Sant'Agostino or Porta Guelfaandamp;nbsp;is the last remain of the majestic Etruscan boundary walls of the city and represent a real architectonic masterpiece.

The ancient house has been recently restored and is to be found above the walls that fence Cortona and overlook the Piazza del Mercato. From here you will enjoy the splendid view of the whole Valdichiana and of Trasimeno Lake.

Relais dates back to 1600 and still carries the name of the local family who owned the villa. The owners bought the building, in its abandoned state, a few years ago with the intention of restoring it to its former glory and transforming it into a charming andamp;lsquo;relaisandamp;rsquo; with every modern comfort whilst faithfully keeping its original design.

Relais, nestles beneath the impressive hillside on which Cortona was built. It is near Arezzo in Tuscany in the centre of the andamp;lsquo;golden triangleandamp;rsquo; of some of the most important artistic sites in central Italy; Arezzo, Perugia, Siena, as well as Assisi and Florence are just a short journey away.

The external architecture remains as it was with its irregularly placed windows, brick arches and doorways in worked andamp;lsquo;pietra serenaandamp;rsquo;. Inside the villa, the characteristics of a bygone age have also been retained; walls in lime plaster, brick ceilings supported on chestnut beams, terracotta floors, doors and fittings, all restored using original materials, and are complemented by colours, patterns and decorations of the period.

The result of all this care is a delightful intimate hotel with echoes of the medieval country rhythms of life essential for a peaceful, relaxed stay.

The public rooms have been restored following the same philosophy offering a well stocked bar and a comfortable, welcoming lounge with period furnishings and warmed by the large original fireplaces.

Il Borgo is a vacation resort achieved through a skilled and accurate restoration of four rural houses in Umbrian style built in stone and brick in the past centuries.

The estate counts 15 hectares and is a typical country farmhouse composed of two comfortable apartments at the heart of cereals cultivations. Surrounded by the beautiful castles of Lucignano, Scrofiano, Farnetella e Sinalunga, where the inhabitants of Arezzo and Siena fought in order to obtain the possession of those territories, which are now a touristic attraction because they appear just like they were at the origin. The two apartments have a common entrance through an internal stairs. They have been renewed with care to their original characteristics. Both apartments are finely furnished with tuscan-style pieces of furniture.

The farmhouse is surrounded by a gated garden of 700mq and has also another apartment (where the owner of the estate lives) and a hall where, under request, the customers can be served breakfast.

In the estate there are two annexes where it is possible to park the car, and an ancient oven (where it is possible to cook pizzas), a barbecue, garden pieces of furniture and a big swimming pool (6x12 mt).

The building is made of volcanic and tufa stones and can accommodate up to 18 people. It is composed of three independent houses, one on the ground floor and two on the first floor. Each house is provided with autonomous heating system, tv sat, andamp;quot;arte poveraandamp;quot; style furnishings and is composed of: entrance, living room with sofabed and kitchen facilities, porch, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin room (all ortopaedic mattresses and bednets), bathrooms with shower cabin and hairdrier.

The two houses on the first floor can be modulated in order to cope with our guests' special requests.

On the ground floor there is a large lounge with big kitchen, spacious fireplace, toilet and porch. With due notice we can arrange events, meetings and ceremonies on the porch.

The farm covers a 50 hectares terrain and has been built on volcanic hills (600 metres on the sea level) which are typical of Bolsena lake. On our gardens you will also see sheeps pasture free.

The former convent is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is still rich in history and legends. According to one of these, its walls hide a Roman golden calf.

San Bernardino from Siena lived here where he attracted many people with his preaches. The church was decorated with many popular paintings and cherished the sacred thorn which was given by a monk coming from the Holy Land. The thorn is now guarded in the church of Castello.

The building still have walled up rooms. An ancient legend states that there is an underground tunnel relying the convent to the Castello who was once the only safe escape passage during the battles.

The cellars have been the stage for Inquisition.

Della Negra family lived a cursed period for having paved the stables with the church floor. The convent was built on top of Arzignano hill in 1494.

The big church and the convent were then put under the care of Franciscans who transformedandamp;nbsp;them in a splendid centre of faith.

In 1704 an imposing fire destroyed the greatest part of Santa Maria complex which was however rebuilt very soon. To acknowledge the pride of all inhabitants who worked hard to rebuild the convent, there is a memorial tablet that can still be visited. The new complex was finished in 1715 and the monks activities resumed until the coming of Napoleon when they abandoned the complex.

Della Negra family obtained the complex. They belonged to the masonry and, being completely anticlerical, they destroyed all the religious frescoes and works of art.

In 1880 Santa Maria passed to Mistrorigo family that transformed it in a welcoming holiday complex.

The holiday apartments of are situated about 4 km outside of Montaione, located south-west from Florence and bordering with the provinces of Pisa and Siena.

There are 4 apartments for 3 to 8 people available, furnished in the typical Tuscan country style with fireplace, solid wood furniture and wrought iron beds.

Every apartment has its own outside space with garden furniture and barbecue. In the well-kept garden, underneath the house, the immense swimming pool (13 x 6 m) with hydro massage and the possibility to swim against the stream.

Around the pool sun beds and sun chairs from where it is possible to enjoy a view of the rolling hills as far as the eye can see. In order to get protected from the sun, there is a wood roofing, also with chairs, banks and tables. The next village with shops, pharmacy, post office, banks, bars and restaurant is Montaione (4 km).

IPlaces nearby are Gambassi Terme (8 km), renowned for the spas, Castelfalfi (10 km), antique hamlet with golf course of 18 holes and the medieval village of Certaldo, where the writer Giovanni Boccaccio, author of andamp;quot;Il Decameroneandamp;quot; lived.
